Chapter-4 Summer of 2019 - The Conclusion

Breakthrough discoveries often begin with a fundamental understanding of science. I officially completed my research project on the 4th of august,2019. After 2 long months, my stay here at Bangalore has finally come to an end. This was my first ever longest haul away from my home back in Delhi. This research internship had opened more career options for me and now I am ready to take my next step. Internship being apart, I had made friends from across every part of India and it is so much fun to learn and connect with their stories, culture, ideas, and languages like Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Malayalam, Hindi, Maithili and Marathi.                          Freinds I made here I am also glad that I embarked upon a journey where I made two solo trips. The first trip was done to Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh to witness my first ever live launch of a vehicle on the occasion of Chandrayan 2.0, lucky I was to ...

Chapter - 3 The Magic Potion for getting into the Summer Research Fellowship Programme

The great Indian physicist CV Raman founded The Indian Academy of Sciences in the year 1934 . The very cause of establishing an academy of such a kind  was to promote the progress and upholding the cause of science. It has three functioning bodies as follows: 1)The Indian National Science Academy-New Delhi 2)The National Academy of Sciences-Allahabad 3)Indian Academy Of sciences-Bangalore Since then the IAS has seen a huge number of applicants applying for this prestigious and most sought fellowship among students and teachers across India.  Let me walk you through few questions on how I managed  to get my Summer Research F ellowship. The most important question is when to apply? Each year the INSA-NAS-IAS invites applications for its well-reputed Summer Research Fellowship Programme (SRFP). The applications are accepted through an online forum in the month of November. The selected candidates are required to work for a period of not less than 5...

Chapter-2 Importance of learning to write an E-Mail

If you want to experience the age-old practice of letter writing, then coming here at IISC will definitely help you relive those moments. Do researchers, faculties and students write letters? No, they don't. IISC being the renowned research university in India too uses technology. Most of us relate Whatsapp, Instagram, Snapchat as a means of technology for communication. Yes, it is. But aren't we missing out on something? Electronic mail is the primary mode of communication used by everyone here. You might wonder why the most renowned university is relying on communications through E-Mail? E-mail marks its own importance in our professional line starting much before one begins his career. The sooner a student puts himself into the habit of writing emails and learns the art of drafting a mail, this somewhat forgotten and age-old means of communication proves to be a powerful tool in the hands of a student. Thus many institutes of such kind encourage the idea of using E-M...

chapter-1 IISC- The Ecosystem ,where excellence meets nature.

I am writing this very first blog post of mine to share my experiences at my current research fellowship at the Indian Institute of Sciences at Bengaluru. It's my day 2 at the campus and I seem to enjoy the ecosystem. By ecosystem, I mean to say that IISC offers the best of both institutional and the perfect environment surrounding the campus. Spread over 400 acres of land, the entire campus area is covered with trees and plants of all sizes. Walking through this rich flora is more like making your way through a forest in case you dare to take the route less taken. Lotus puddles with tadpoles and frogs around.    There is a pond right ahead. Off-road trails for the wanderers    Look how amazing is the root. Talking about the institutional ecosystem, if science has ever made you curious, then this is the place you need to be. Here you not only question your curiosity but get it solved. IISC provides shape and direction to your curiosity with...
